Following on from a competitive tender process, Conway Engineering were delighted to be appointed as delivery partner to Irish Water for the IWSS NCAP programme. This is a five year programme for delivery of Wastewater Treatment plant upgrades nationwide with a focus on Inlet Works, Storm Management and Sludge Management.

We have already started on Phase 1 design stage for our first batch of sites and are looking forward to successful delivery of these upgrades, resulting in sustainable wastewater treatment in Ireland.

Works underway to upgrade Barndarrig wastewater treatment plant

As part of our design and build upgrade of Barndarrig wastewater treatment plant in Co. Wicklow for Irish Water, we installed a new screw screen on site last week.

This new Simeco screen will allow efficient and automated removal, compaction and disposal of screenings, improving the efficiency and operation of the plant.

Patrick is a qualified civil engineer with over seven years’ experience in managing civil, water and wastewater projects.

Patrick will take on the role of Project Manager in Conway Engineering, delivering projects for Irish Water on the Minor MEICA framework and a variety of private sector contracts.

Some recent time-lapse footage of our installation of a new fine bubble diffused air (FBDA) system at Carlingford WWTW as part of the Meath 4 towns scheme.

This works involve an upgrade of existing surface aerators to provide a highly energy-efficient aeration system, with significant operational savings for Irish Water. http://

Welcome Sean O’Donovan

We would like to welcome Sean O’ Donovan to Conway Engineering.  Sean is a Chartered Engineer with an Honours Degree in Structural Engineering from Cork Institute of Technology. He has 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, with both structural design and site management experience.  He previously worked with ESB International and Diona Contractors, where he worked on the delivery of large scale transmission and wastewater network projects.

We are delighted to welcome our newest engineer, Gaurav Sharma, to Conway Engineering. Gaurav is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from SKIT in Jaipur, India. He completed his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at University College Cork in 2018. Gaurav joins our growing multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians and will work on the development of our in-house 3D drawing and BIM capabilities.

Tender Success – Upgrade of Aeration Systems in Meath and Louth

Conway Engineering is delighted to announce recent success in our tender for the upgrade of aeration systems at 4 no. WwTPs in Counties Meath and Louth for Irish Water. The project will include the design, installation, testing and commissioning of Fine Bubble Diffused Aeration (FBDA) Systems to replace the existing aeration systems at Blackrock WwTP (10,000 PE) and Carlingford WwTP (3,000 PE) in County Louth and at Trim WwTP (17,000 PE) and Kells WwTP (13,300 PE) in County Meath.

We look forward to working with Irish Water and the local authorities on the delivery of this important energy efficiency upgrade project.
